The Covid-19 Museum is a project whose ins and outs can be inscribed at varying levels in the themes highlighted by the conference.
The SARS-Cov-2 has brought us to a singularity which can be a breaking point in our societies. By linking each of the aspects of what it brings us through, the Covid-19 Museum wants to offer the opportunity for research and encourage reflection on the future of our societies.
Built according to the principles of Open Science, Open Data and Reproducible Research, the Covid-19 Museum wants to put in relation the actors of the collections of the digital traces in connection with the appearance of the SARS-Cov-2. The Covid-19 Museum will unite the collections of digital traces related to the pandemic thanks to its software, including its communication protocol that can be installed on any archiving or computing resources. This Open Science initiative will offer the possibility to analyze the digital traces related to the pandemic using Data and Digital Sciences, and will protect in a distributed way the knowledge that will be extracted from it. This instrument has a triple vocation of memory, didactic and research.
The construction of the Covid-19 Museum is based on the manufacture of a brick of Open Source computer code, software for interfacing the collections of numerical artefacts and the provision of computing resources that can be offered by the actors of distributed computing as well as by the general public. The deployment of this brick is part of the construction of the Museum. The interface, set up by the brick, becomes the entrance door to the Covid-19 Museum. It allows the public to consult the digital traces accordingly to the museography of each collect, while offering the possibility to access all the available data by keywords. Finally, it offers to the researchers the possibility to deposit a request for access to all or part of the database to extract knowledge with the most modern means of Data Science and Digital Science.
The Covid-19 Museum unites in an open way the collections of digital artefacts related to the pandemic, offers the possibility of analyzing them in a reproducible
way and protects the knowledge that will be extracted from them. It does not organize a collection, does not analyze the collections, it will thus in no way be " judge and party". It is an analytical tool at the service of human societies. Technically, the Covid-19 Museum will draw from the projects in Open Science to develop its elementary software brick.
The period to be followed by the instrument "Covid-19 Museum" is a snapshot of our societies. This snapshot of an event, dreamed of by the greatest actors of the web, is possible through the pooling of the largest possible number of collections. All research would benefit from this instantaneous mapping of our societies and their interactions. In this context, the Covid-19 Museum replaces these Sciences as a universal value built by each one for the benefit of all.
After describing its structure, our proposal will present the concepts on which the Covid-19 Museum is based, which allow a reflexive practice of research and will show how it could be used to follow crisis in a global vision.
